You're invited to a Valentine's Dinner on Saturday, February 7 at 6:00p.m. This will be a fun time of food and fellowship. Come alone, with a date, or bring a friend. There is no cost for this evening of enjoyment. Please sign up on the bulletin board in the foyer by next Sunday or email Jeannine by Wed., Feb. 4.

Volunteers needed! We are in need of volunteers to provide food and entertainment for the Valentine's Dinner on Feb. 7. If you are interested in providing lasagna, bread, salad, or dessert or if you have a special musical talent you would like to share, please sign up on the bulletin board in the foyer or contact Jeannine by Wed., Feb. 4.

Interested in supporting small coffee and cocoa farmers more directly? If so, sign up on the bulletin board in the foyer to express your interest in participating in the Fair Trade Coffee Exchange. Details are hanging above the sign-up sheet or see Jeannine.

Do you have favorite songs or hymns that never seem to be selected to sing on Sunday morning? There will be a "song selection box" placed in the back hallway, under the mailboxes. Please write down your songs, and drop in the box, or give your suggestions to Jeff Myers or Dottie Scott.

Eastern Mennonite University would like to invite you to come see for yourself why EMU is an exceptional Christian university. Special visit dates are February 19-20, Multicultural Weekend February 20-22, April 1-2 and Saturday, March 20. Please call EMU at (800) 368-2665 or locally at (540) 432-4118 to set up your visit. Or register online at http://www.emu.edu/admissions/brochure/cv.html.

Prayers and Praises

VMBM: Next week persons in Eastern Carolina District will begin the Blenheim Bible Study Course, which provides basic biblical knowledge in a systematic way. The goal is to strengthen the churches and believers for mission to their communities. Pray for Urban Ministry Director Paul Godshall as he encourages and resources the churches for outreach ministries.

Mennonite Mission Network: Mission Network workers Pat and Rad Houmphan ask prayer that God will lead them to national workers who have a burden for the Isaan people and will join them in their expanding ministry in Borabur, Thailand.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank and the Salvation Army.

Pray for the 40 day spiritual journey as part of our church's vision process:

  1. Our selves, that we all will be drawn closer to God and each other.
  2. Our church, relationships within our church, our vision as a church; our facility needs
  3. Our community and our mission of witness and service
