Small Groups, Big IdeasTake your pick from traditional Bible study or a book/ topic Sunday school group on Sundays. We also offer a morning women's Bible study, two bi-weekly men's groups, informal table games at the parsonage, and a kids' playgroup. We are always open to new ideas as well. Please email for more on any of these, or look at our Calendar to find out about meeting times. Visionary VolunteeringCome autumn, CMC folks get knee-deep in funnel-cake batter. We also take our funnel cake talents to the annual Virginia Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Relief Sale in October each year. Held over the mountain in Harrisonburg, Virginia, the sale supports world relief and development programs of MCC. Visit www.vareliefsale.com to learn more. During the winter, our church has helped volunteer with PACEM, a group of Charlottesville churches committed to providing shelter to homeless in our area. We also support local volunteering through Love, INC (In the Name of Christ) a local faith-based service organization. Many at CMC also take time in the summer to volunteer at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen in Charlottesville. Youth GroupCMCs Youth Group is small but dynamic. They have
bonded during youth conventions, fundraising events, and many other activities.
Some of these activities have included Christmas parties, snow tubing,
concerts, sports events, and pizza nights hosted by the pastors. Its
an enthusiastic, high-energy bunch of people! The Unofficial Mennonite Moving CrewYou wouldn't believe how mobile this community is. For some reason, we're suckers for the aerobic activity of moving boxes hither and yon. We're beginning to think of it as a spiritual endeavor. And if that's a stretch, we comfort ourselves that -- at the very least -- it builds character.
