Lent 3: Holding on, letting go
March 7, 2010

Gathering in Christ's name

Empty bowls
Cracked and clattering, unbalanced upon the table's surface.
Into your home,
our home
we gather:
Mismatched vessels.
In pride,
In shame,
In humility,
Each one hungry
Each one desperate for your presence.

Our host,
Our guest,
Our servant-Lord
Clean us,
Hold us,
Fill us.

Prayers and Praises

Mennonite Mission Network: Recruiting teachers for LCC International University, a four-year Christian liberal arts college in Lithuania, is becoming increasingly difficult due to the global recession and new migration laws. Pray for Robin Gingerich, director of LCC's English language programs, and for a complete staff for the coming academic year.

VMM Missions: Today the Jamaica Mennonite churches are gathering for worship in Kingston, singing, praying and hearing God's Word. Thank God for inspiring the church members to continue serving Him, especially in difficult circumstances.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
