On April 18, 2009, First Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg, VA will host an Earth Day Stewardship University, a ministry partnership between MMA and our local faith community. Environmental author and expert, Luke Gascho will host several sessions, including Creation Care: An Act of Stewardship. Other topics include community gardening, green investing, and experience-based learning. Childcare is available for ages three and up. Though the congregation is small, pray it will have a significant witness in the community. VMM: : There is an Easter sunrise service held
at Fort George by some of the congregations of the Mennonite Church of
Trinidad & Tobago each year. Thank God for this good time of worship
in a beautiful place, reminding everyone of the miracle of the resurrection
of Christ. Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
