April is hospitality month at CMC. Spring is around the corner, picnics, ice cream, getting together. Take a moment in April and think about people at church you have wanted to get together with or get to know better and take the plunge and invite them for a meal, a potluck at your house, bowling together, hiking. - from Board of Elders.

Can you give some time, finances, and service this summer to the Christian church in China? After not being able to send an English-teaching team last year because of the earthquake, VMMissions is excited about the possibility of sending another team this year. We have team leaders; we need willing team members!
An Earth Day Stewardship University , a ministry partnership between MMA and our local faith community, is coming to First Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg, VA on April 18, 2009! As part of that partnership, local leaders had a hand in selecting the specific courses like Energy Efficiency at Home, Green Investing, Amazon and Arctic, Creation Care: An Act of Stewardship, and more! The Shenandoah Valley Men's Choir and Chamber Ensemble
will be in concert April 5, 3 p.m. at the EMHS Auditorium. A free will
offering will be taken for Our Community Place in Harrisonburg.
Prayers and Praises
MMN: On Palm Sunday and Easter, churches in many parts of Africa incarnate visible testimonies to whole community, including woven palm branches and resurrection parades. Pray that the whole church worldwide would expand its witness during this season of joyous celebration.
VMM: Christopher and Crystal Lehman are enjoying
spring break from Black Forest Academy with their parents in Bari, Italy.
May they be rejuvenated by spending Easter as a family and with the church
family at Centro Koinonia.
Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
