We are looking for people that are interested in an evening of fun... mystery dinner, silent auction and fund raising for our youth.Get your tickets for the CMC Valentine Mystery Dinner and Silent Auction being held at the church Saturday, February 12. Tickets can be requested from Lois Alderfer. The Silent Auction will start at 5:00 with supper being served at 6:00. Child care will be provided upstairs by our Jr. Youth (let Lois know if you plan to utilize the childcare option). Money donations for the meal will be suggested at the time of the banquet. All proceeds will benefit the CMC youth trip to Assembly 2005 in Charlotte, NC. If you have any questions please feel free to talk to one of the youth or contact Steve or Lois Alderfer.

Mark your calendar for our annual church retreat at Camp Bethel on June 3-5, 2005. Come and gather for some fun and fellowship, all expenses paid for by the church. More information later.

POSTPONED TO FEB. 26! CMC 20s and 30s will meet for nachos, salsa, and bean soup, 6:30 p.m. at the home of Alan Hostetler. Please bring a dish to share. Questions, contact Anne Dickey or Becky Scott. Contact Anne or Becky for an alternative get together on January 29.

Hymn Sing - You are invited to a hymn sing at the Charlottesville Church of the Brethren on January 30 at 4:00. Please let the pastors know if you are interested in attending. Please bring finger foods to share with both our church and the Brethren Church for a time of fellowship following this event.

Thank you to all who contributed relief buckets. If you are interested in further helping those devastated by the Tsunami, please check out the bulletin board for ways to provide assistance through MCC or go to their website at www.mcc.org.

Volunteers are needed to assist with Children's Church on the 3rd Sunday of each month. (The Youth cover the 1st Sunday of the month.) If you are interested in helping, please let Maren or Jeannine know.

Harrisonburg High School will present the musical "Godspell" February 17-19 at 7:30p.m. and February 20 at 3:00p.m.at Harrisonburg High School auditorium. A limited number of $10 reserved ticket are available by calling 810-3332, 820-6237, or 820-6205. General admission tickets are $8 and will be sold only at the door. Group night is Thursday, Feb. 17th and for any prepaid order of 20 general admission tickets or more, each ticket is only $5.

Prayers and Praises

Mennonite Mission Network: As Mennonite missions leaders met at the Council of International Ministries in Pittsburgh Jan 25-29, pray that God's Spirit may guide the discussions. Special attention will be given to the need to take seriously North America as a growing "mission field."

VMBM: Please pray for the weekly young people's meetings at Centro Koinonia in Bari, Italy. Ask that God will lead and guide these gatherings, and receive glory for Himself. Pray for the non-Christians that attend occasionally as well, that they may come to know Jesus Christ.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, and the initiative for the homeless in Charlottesville.

Pray for those within our CMC family:
~ Matt Nissley and his YES team in Peru.
~ Jeff Myers' father as he is battling cancer.
~ Those devastated by the Tsunami in Asia and Africa.
