Stewardship University, a ministry partnership between MMA and our local faith community, is coming to Springdale Mennonite Church in Waynesboro on March 20, 2010! In Effective Actions to Care for Creation, Tom Benevento will help you learn how to save energy in your home through weatherizing, insulation, efficient appliances, eco-energy landscaping, renewable energy, and community gardening. For more information, visit the MMA Website (StewardshipUniversity.org). If you're planning on attending, please contact Linda. There is a discount if five or more register from one church, and there may be interest in carpooling.

Haiti earthquake response These supplies are needed by Feb. 28. Please help MCC respond to this urgent need for supplies. A table will be set up with totes, baskets, etc. in the sanctuary behind the piano to place your donations in. However, you are welcome to bring supplies in your own boxes as well. Roy and Maren can drop off kits and supplies at MCC. The http://mcc.org/ website and links provide daily updates

While MCC also uses purchased blankets in some responses, heavy comforters are needed for Haiti
10,000 flat sheets
NEW flat sheets (For Haiti, please use double, queen or king-size sheets in light colors. Sheets will also be used as mosquito netting and light colors are less attractive to mosquitoes.)


Prayers and Praises

Mennonite Mission Network: : Pray that God may strengthen and guide Alyssa Hostetler, Kelli Yoder, Allen Slabaugh and Richard Aguirre of the Americus, Ga., Mennonite Voluntary Service unit as they serve the local community.

VMM Missions: Due to the weather, Chaiya Hadtasunsern's ordination was postponed from January 31 until today. Pray for him, his wife, Aranya, and their three sons-Joel, Benjamin and Elijah-as they serve the Hickory (N.C.) Hmong Mennonite Church which Chaiya founded.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
