Board of Elders is working on Roy and Maren's Annual Pastoral Review. Please help us by completing your review form TODAY. Hard copies can be found in your mailbox. Responses can be given to Lois by either hard copy or email.

PACEM is looking for knitted or crochet scarves for the homeless (mostly men), 5-6 ft long (5 ft for women) and 8 inches wide, preferably in dark and variegated colors. Donations of yarn are also welcome. Please contact Jean Marie with your interest at and she will put you in touch with the coordinator for this project.

You are invited to hear Fire, a Charlottesville-based women's a cappella chamber choir, in a PACEM benefit concert on Sunday, October 25th, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1901 Thomson Road in Charlottesville.

Prayers and Praises

MMN:Pray for God's guidance as new participants begin their Mennonite Voluntary Service experience. May they serve in God's name through both hard and joyful times.

VMM: Richard & Barbara Gehring and daughters Olivia and Roxy left Manhattan, Kansas to serve for a year with the Mennonite Church of Trinidad & Tobago. Pray for Richard & Barbara as they teach courses at the West Indies Theological College twice a week and relate to the congregations there.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
