Please join us for the Back to School picnic at Walnut Creek Park today after the church service. We have reserved a picnic shelter with grills. Please bring a dish to share and extra drinks for your family for the afternoon. Possible activities at the park include swimming in the lake, biking and hiking.

Thank you for your responses to the Children's Ministry Survey! We are still looking for teachers for the Fall. If you are interested in teaching (weekly) or co-teaching (bimonthly) we have a position available for you in our 3rd -5th grade class! We are also seeking someone to take the lead in the Adult Bible Study Class. Please consider these options and let Lara know if you want to help out.

Vision Corner: One aspect of our vision process this last year was to strengthen small groups. Two new groups were started this year. Two small groups are now rebuilding after some persons moved from our community. If you are interested in a small group please be in contact with the pastors.

Middle East Work Group Opportunity for 2010! Registration is now open for a Partners in Mission Work Group to Nazareth and Bethlehem, May 7-24, 2010. Group leaders will be Dorothy Jean Weaver, Professor of New Testament, Eastern Mennonite Seminary, and Les Horning, Pastor, Christiansburg Mennonite Fellowship. The work group will volunteer their services at Nazareth Village, Nazareth, and at the International Center of Bethlehem at Christmas Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. Group size will be limited to 18; and registration is open to all interested persons on a first-come, first-served basis.

1885 STYLE WORSHIP SERVICE AT ZION: You are invited to experience worship featuring 1885-style practices and attire at Zion Mennonite Church (3260 Zion Church Rd) in Broadway, Va on September 13 at 10:30 a.m. Come early for a historical background and overview of the practices of area Mennonites at 9:30 a.m; and, stay for the 12 noon fellowship meal featuring food indicative of 1885. MMN:Pray for participants beginning assignments with Mennonite Voluntary Service, Radical Journey or Service Adventure. Ask the Lord to give them openness and times of learning as they leave the familiarity of home and embark on a new adventure.

VMM: Outlet 10.27's outreach to a skateboard park in Graham, N.C. enriches the lives of youth who love skating and absorbing adult attention. Pray for church leaders who give direction to this witness. (The name is based on Luke 10:27.)

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
