Highland Retreat will be holding it's Annual Auction Saturday, February 28, 2009. The auction benefits the youth camp summer program at Highland Retreat. Items needed are new or only slightly used merchandise, theme baskets, baked goods, gift certificates, collectables and other items of value. In February, Virginia Mennonite Conference invites Pastors & Youth Workers to the Joint Ministry Retreat (February 13-15) with Michele Hershberger as resource speaker; and the following weekend invites Senior High Youth & Youth Workers to the Senior High Retreat (February 20-22) with Seth Hankee as resource speaker. Stewardship University, a ministry partnership between MMA and our local faith community, will host the course, Money and You: Who's in Charge, on March 7, 2009, at Parkview Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg. Taught by popular presenter Dick Towner, this course will offer practical ideas about managing your money in ways that reflect your values. The Table is offering a workshop on how the Lord's Supper and footwashing connect to hospitality and missional worship at Our Community Place in Harrisonburg. "And Jesus Got Up from the Table: perfume, the poor and the politics of Jesus" will be held Feb. 21st from 10-3:30. Mark and Mary Thiessen Nation will provide input for discussion. Prayers and Praises

MMN: Please celebrate and join in prayer with Mennonite Mission Network workers Cindy and Tim Buhler and a local family for the new home group begun on Taipa Island, Macau, the area where Buhlers live. Pray that this group will be a blessing in its community.

VMM: Pray for Paul and Evelyn Kratz who serve in Trinidad, relating to the six Mennonite congregations. They have opportunities to pray with individuals and in large groups for salvation and for renewal. May God give them strength for these responsibilities.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
