January 4,2009 Epiphany: The welcoming face of God

Gathering in Christ's name

Pre-service music
Call to Worship
Leader: Arise, shine for your light has come.
People: It's been dark for so long,
the kind of darkness you can feel in your bones.

Leader: But now the light has come.
People: God's glorious light is rising over our heads.
Leader: Open your eyes and let them adjust to this new reality.
God is illuminating the landscape, and now we begin to see
God's goodness.
People: The light is moving out across boundaries and
barriers, filling the whole earth.

All: The light of Christ is a light to all people. We rejoice in
God's justice and mercy made visible among us.

Announcements

Please email all bulletin announcements by Wednesday 8:00 pm to Becky.

Our 2008-2009 budget reached the half-year point at November 30, 2008. While our budget projected general offerings of almost $50,000 that first half, our actual general offerings were approximately $45,000, or 10% below projections. We are hopeful that the level of general offerings at CMC will be increased during the next 6 months; being mindful, however, that the economy is in downturn. Our faith remains unhindered.
