The youth from Springdale Mennonite Church is reporting from San Jose with our youth this morning. Our youth has been going to Conventions with Springdale for the past couple years and we thank all those involved in sending the youth and especially Muzet Felgar, the Springdale Youth Pastor. Thank you to all who worked the Funnel cake booth this week. I hope everyone had a wonderful time meeting lots of people. The weather held up this year, though instead of rain we had increasingly hot weather. Our total for the week is $ 3,345 minus expenses. Volunteers for the Salvation Army soup kitchen are needed for Thursdays from 4:30 until 6:30. It is possible to come after 5 p.m. Please reply to Roy Hange. We need volunteers for the second week in August. The church has a set of two DVD's containing all 6 adult worship sermons from the Mennonite Convention in San Jose 2007. If you like to borrow these please see Maren Hange. Sunday School classes resume for all ages on Sunday, September 2. Dottie Scott and Ben Nissley will be teaching the Preschool class, Miriam Nissley the Middlers, Steve and Lois Alderfer the Jr. Youth, Steve Koleszar and others will teach the youth. Prayers and PraisesMennonite Mission Network: Ask God to grant Mennonite Mission Network worker Aaron Kauffman wisdom and inspiration as he begins teaching a missions class on Saturdays at the Arise and Shine Missions Institute in La Mesa, Colombia. VMM Missions: This week, the Jesus' Deaf Church
in Belize and the Hope Mennonite Church in Trinidad are holding Bible
schools. Pray for the leaders working with volunteers from the US, and
for the participants, that the lessons will fill hearts and minds with
God's great love. Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
