July 8, 2007 - Life lines: Faithfulness and Formation

Gathering in Christ's name

Pre-service Music
Call to Worship Psalm 119:50-96 (NIV)
Leader: Remember your word to your servant, O Lord,
For you have given me hope. This is my comfort in my distress: that your promise gives me life.
People: Those who fear you shall rejoice when they see us, for we have put our hope in your word.
Leader: I remember your ancient laws, O LORD,
and I find comfort in them.
People: Your hands made us and formed us;
give us understanding that we may learn your commands.

Leader: Your decrees are the theme of my song
wherever I make my home.
People: Let your steadfast love become our comfort
Let your mercy come to us that we may live.

Leader: My soul faints with longing for your salvation,
but I have put my hope in your word.
People: Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the
heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.

Announcements

Please email bulletin announcements to BethPratt by Wednesday noon.

There will be no need for volunteers for the Salvation Army on Thursdays during the month of July. Another church had taken those dates already. Thank you, we will pick it up again in August.

The Hange family will be returning from the Mennonite Church convention in San Jose, CA tomorrow, Monday, July 9. In case of an emergency please contact a member of the Board of Elders: Jim Parks, Joyce Hutchinson or Lois Alderfer.

Prayers and Praises

Mennonite Mission Network: Please pray for the DOOR (Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection) program and city directors during the busy summer season. There are about 2,300 participants in all the cities where DOOR has ministry.

VMM Missions: This week, Centro Koinonia in Bari, Italy is holding the annual Settimana Felice with the theme based on the Chronicles of Narnia: Our King and His Kingdom. It's a great time of learning, fun, and inspiration. Pray for the leaders and the young participants.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
