Gathering in Christ's name

Pre-service Music
Prayer of Invocation
Call to Worship (based on Psalm 63 and Psalm 27)
Leader: O God, you are our God. We seek you.
People: Our souls thirst for you
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Leader: The Lord is our light and our salvation-
we shall not be afraid.
People: We will wait for the Lord, and take courage,
for we will see God's goodness.

ALL: O God, you satisfy our souls as with a rich feast. In the
shadow of your wings, we sing for joy, and you uphold us.

Leader: (reading Psalm 27:7-9)
"Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me! 'Come,' my heart says, 'seek God's face!' Your face, Lord, do I seek. Do not hide your face from me. Do not turn your servant away in anger, you who have been my help. Do not cast me off, do not forsake me, O God of my salvation!" Who will seek the Lord today?
All: I will seek the Lord today.
Leader: We are all invited to seek the Lord today. Let us
bring ourselves to God in prayer.
ALL: Sheltering God, we seek you, for you alone are our Light
and Salvation. When darkness moves into our lives,
we seek your face.

Leader: When fears overcome us and paralyze us we seek
your face. When our souls hunger for your shelter
we seek your face.
ALL: In the morning and in the evening, we will seek the
face of our God.

Leader: Our generous God provides for us.

We express our deep thanks for all the ways you have reached out to us during this past week with the sudden death of Peter Wentz and Roy's trip to Montana and family illness. The Hanges.

As many of you know Chad and Jeannine will be moving in a few months. Jeannine has been doing the bulletin for the past few years. If you are interested in taking her place in this role, please let Jeannine or Maren know.

CMC Ladies: You are invited to a bridal shower for April Hutchinson, Saturday, March 10th at 2:30pm at the home of Jan Parks. A Bed, Bath, and Beyond gift registry is available online for Spencer Douglas and April. RSVP to Jan Parks or Libby Showalter by Sunday, March 4th (TODAY).

Financial Calculators: Many personal and financial goals depend on your stage of life. You might be saving for college, starting a family, or planning for retirement. No matter your goal, MMA has calculators to help you. Visit the Financial Services home page at MMA-online (www.mma-online.org).
Psalm 23 (in the second person)

The Lord is your Shepherd
You shall not want
He makes you lie down in green pastures
He leads you beside still waters
He restores your soul
He leads you in paths of righteousness
For his name sake

Even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death
You will fear no evil
For the Lord is with you

The Lord's rod and staff they comfort you
He prepares a table before you
In the presence of your enemies
He anoints your head with oil
Your cup overflows

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you
All the days of your life
And you shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever

Prayers and Praises

VMBM: Pray that God will enlarge James and Sharon Rhee's territory as they reach Korean families in the Winchester, VA, community. The weekly worship and fellowship held at the Stephens City Mennonite Church each Sunday afternoon bonds the families together.

Mennonite Mission Network: Please pray for local members of the new Korea Anabaptist Center reference council as they meet for the first time on March 10 to discuss together the direction and leadership of KAC. Mennonite Mission Network is one of the agencies supporting KAC.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
