Stewardship University is a ministry partnership between MMA and our local faith community coming to Harrisonburg Mennonite Church, March 10, 2007. One course on The Power of Enough may be of particular interest to those seeking contentment. It is taught by MMA stewardship theologian Lynn Miller, who has written a number of books, including The Power of Enough. A community Taizé service will be held this coming Wednesday, February 7, at 8:30 p.m. at Park View Mennonite Church (1600 Park Rd., Harrisonburg) The hour-long service follows the format of evening prayer used in the ecumenical community of Taizé in France. It is mostly a service of sung prayer with additional periods of silence, scripture reading and intercession. All in the community are welcome to participate. The Mennofolk fundraising concert on Friday, February 16 at 8:00 p.m. at Park View will feature some great music by local Mennonite performers: Daphna Creek, Cantore, and Finely Tuned. There is no charge for admission; an offering will be received to support Mennofolk, a Mennonite folk music festival sponsored by Virginia Mennonite Conference. The World Day of Prayer is celebrated every year on the first Friday of March. This year it is on March 2, 2007. The theme is "United Under God's Tent," and was prepared by the World Day of Prayer Committee of Paraguay. indigenous pastors and leaders from all of Ecuador. Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.
