Prayers and PraisesVMBM: Today, in two sessions, our brothers and sisters in the Jamaica Mennonite Church are gathering for their 48th annual conference witheth theme "Revive Thy Work, O Lord." This highlight of the church year includes lively singing, powerful preaching, communion and dramas. May God give them a special portion of His Spirit today, and give them safety as they travel to and from Kingston. Mennonite Mission Network: Mennonite Mission Network worker Anne Garber Kompaoré in Burkina Faso is doing research and making contacts regarding establishing a translation project in the major Burkina dialect of the Fulani language. Pray that this research will yield fruitful results. Pray for the local services for people in need:

justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless. ~ The four hostages in Iraq who are from Christian Peacemaker Team, their families, their support teams (Tom Fox has informal connections to Northern Virginia Mennonite Church), CPT leadership Carol Rose and Doug Pritchard, the hostage takers, the negotiators and everyone who is involved and affected by this.
