The Student Lecture Series at EMU presents Jim Wallis, February 21, at 7 p.m. in Lehman Auditorium. 2006 MCC Turkey Canning is scheduled for February 27-March 3 at the Mennonite Relief Center, Hinton, VA.Virginia Mennonite Conference is responsible to provide help on Tuesday, February 28. Help is needed from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. each day. Friday, March 3 is scheduled as a community day and help is needed especially in the early morning. Anyone is welcome to come and help on any day! Funds are needed to purchase turkey for processing and for the ongoing operation of the Relief Center. If you would like to contribute to this project you can send a donation to the: Mennonite Relief Center, PO Box 519, Dayton, VA 22821, earmarked for the meat canning project. Mennonite Economic Development Agency (MEDA) is hosting a light meal and forum entitled "Practical Applications of Technology in Your Business" on Thursday, February 16, at 6 p.m., at Eastern Mennonite High School. Forum participants include: Michael Stoltzfus, Jason Garber, Larion Hostetler, and Dwight Wyse. The meal cost is $5, and advance registration is required. Saturday, April 1, Lunasa, an Irish music quintet, will present a program at the Eastern Mennonite School Auditorium. One reviewer said of the group, "An amazing new instrumental quintet: state-of-the-art Irish music as aggressively infectious as you¹ll ever hear." UnveilinGlory, a fast-paced intergenerational seminar that helps Christians glorify God and take this glory to all nations will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the EMU Suter Science Center, Rm. VMBM: Jim and Ruth Mellinger serve as church planters in the Graham/Greensboro/Winston-Salem area [Triad Tri-ministry Initiative] of North Carolina. May they have clear direction for their tasks.

Mennonite Mission Network: Mennonite Mission Network workers Donna and Loren Entz in Burkina Faso ask prayer for increased interest in God's Word as the Samogho people listen to the weekly radio program in their own language. The program combines traditional and biblical material as well as new Christian music compositons.

Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, IMPACT--a justice ministry and PACEM-- the initiative for the homeless.

~ The four hostages in Iraq who are from Christian Peacemaker Team, their families, their support teams (Tom Fox has informal connections to Northern Virginia Mennonite Church), CPT leadership Carol Rose and Doug Pritchard, the hostage takers, the negotiators and everyone who is involved and affected by this.
