Justice: Like Rain that
Falls on Mown Grass
(Psalms 72:6)

July 31, 2005

Gathering in Christ's name

Call to worship
Leader: With hearts longing for justice,
we gather for worship.
When children are hungry
or when adults cannot find work,
when greedy nations go to war
or when refugees flee for their lives,
when the earth is exploited
or when prejudice blinds,
we plead for deliverance.
May fresh showers of God's justice
fall on us and our world today.
ALL: Lord of life, all our longings are known to you:
send our roots rain;
refresh us and make us whole.

Please be in prayer for Rose Shenk and her family as the funeral for her father Joe is this afternoon at Weavers Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg. Rose and the boys are planning to move back to Charlottesville in the middle of this week. Rose is also currently searching for a paid nanny to live with them in Charlottesville for a year beginning September. Please let the pastors know if you are aware of any nanny.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED! We are still in need of a teacher for the Middler Group (Grades 3-5). If you are interested, please let Maren or Lara know.

ATTENTION KIDS!!! Mark you calendars now for Venture Club coming this fall. The 3rd Friday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. will be a time to take a Bible Exploration, venture into the Craft Cave, and hunt for Treasure Treats. Come and join the fun! (Parents and other adults can be part of the action too by volunteering or donating supplies. Talk to Jeannine for more information.) A list of needed supplies is posted on the bulletin board.

The Salvation Army needs kitchen volunteers 4:30-6:00 p.m. Thursdays August 4, 11, and 18. Contact Roy for more information.

It's time again to place another Equal Exchange Coffee/Tea/Cocoa order. Please contact Charis for more details.
Please remember to have all bulletin information to Jeannine by noon on Thursdays. Thanks!
