Our church is sponsoring a table at the Annual Love INC Banquet. The banquet is Friday, March 18 from 6:30-9:00 at the Omni Hotel. The speaker will be Robert Odom, National President of Love INC. The cost of the event is a donation. Please let Joyce Hutchinson know if you would like to attend. The Annual VMRC Auxiliary Auction and Meal is scheduled for Friday, March 18 in Detwiler Auditorium on the VMRC campus. We are in need of items to auction. Suggestions include: handcrafted wooden items, antiques, quilts, furniture, gift certificates, etc. Be creative! All proceeds benefit the VMRC community and will be used this year to fund a wheelchair accessible van. EMU's Young Person's Christian Association (YPCA) invites you to a night of great music to benefit a great cause. Two a cappella musical groups, Sons of the Day and Shekinah, will perform at Park View Mennonite Church on Thursday, March 17, at 7:00 p.m. Though admission to the concert is free, it is a fundraiser. All donations received will support YPCA's many ministries both on and off the EMU campus. Interested in becoming a Host Home for the Runaway Emergency Services Program (RESP) of Children, Youth, and Family Services? Want to be a Youth Companion to young persons (ages 11-18) while the youth and his/her family receive counseling? To volunteer for either program or to get more information, please call 292-SAFE (7233) Prayers and PraisesMennonite Mission Network: Pray that the witness of love, even without spoken words, given by Christian brothers and sisters to victims of the tsunami in South Asia will impact people. Also pray that Christians will be both diligent and wise as they seek ways to share verbally of God's love. VMBM: Krista Swartzentruber touches the lives of the youngest students at the Maranatha School for the Deaf in Jamaica every school day. She is the hands and feet of Christ in this setting. May she find the patience and love that is needed for this task. Pray for the local services for people in need: Love Inc., Shelter for Help in Emergency, Food Bank, Salvation Army, CAISC -a justice ministry and PACEM - the initiative for the homeless.
